At our Brighton patio company, we install a wide range of premium natural stone paving, including sandstone, limestone, granite, and locally associated Sussex stone styles that complement the character of properties across Brighton and East Sussex. Natural stone offers unique textures, rich colour variations, and exceptional longevity, ensuring no two patios are ever identical. Whether you’re enhancing a traditional Sussex cottage or a contemporary coastal home, a professionally installed natural stone patio provides lasting beauty, practicality, and value.
What exactly counts as "natural stone" for a patio installation?
Natural stone refers to premium paving slabs quarried directly from the earth rather than being manufactured from concrete or synthetic molds. The most popular and durable options for UK gardens include Indian Sandstone, Limestone, Slate, Granite, and Yorkstone. Because it is completely organic, no two slabs are identical, giving your patio a truly unique, high-end finish.
How much does a natural stone patio cost, and do you offer free quotes?
We provide completely free, no-obligation site surveys and written quotes. The total investment depends on the specific stone you select (for example, Limestone vs. rare Yorkstone), the size of your garden, and how much excavation is needed to create a solid sub-base. Our team will give you a clear, fixed price with no hidden extras during our visit.
Do I need to pay a deposit before my natural stone patio is installed?
No. We run our business on trust and quality, which is why we have a strict no upfront payment policy. You don’t pay a single penny for materials or labor until our patio installers have fully completed the job, cleaned down the stone, cleared the site, and you have signed off on the finished project.
Does a natural stone patio require sealing?
While it isn’t strictly mandatory, we highly recommend sealing natural stone. Because materials like sandstone and limestone are porous, they naturally absorb moisture, which can lead to staining from fallen leaves, muddy paws, or patio spills. Applying a high-quality, breathable sealant shortly after installation protects the stone, prevents deep-rooted weed and algae growth, and preserves its natural colors.
How do you prevent natural stone slabs from loosening or rocking over time?
We ensure long-term stability by never cutting corners on the groundwork. Our team excavates to the correct depth, installs a compacted Type 1 MOT sub-base, and lays every single natural stone slab onto a full, wet mortar bed coated with a specialist priming slurry. This creates an unbreakable structural bond that prevents hollow gaps, rocking slabs, and frost damage during the winter.
